For the time being, I need a different job until I can start and finish my teaching cerification program. Until then..I can't stay at my job much longer. I may flip out.
Um, I can't help but notice that you mentioned something about a teaching certification. Is there some news there somewhere? Are you going to be a teacher?
All schools are always looking for subs. Would give you experience in the teaching field. Of course that wouldn't give you health benefits. That is a problem.
I don't know if that was your Mom or my Mom that suggested subbing, but it is a good idea if you are going for your teaching certificate. It gets your foot in the door for a job later, and if you work enough, there are options (at least sometimes) for health benefits. The pay is not awesome, but it's not horrible- and I bet you can find the best districts around you. It would also help you figure out which age/subject you like the best. It's a valid option- and I loved every minute of it
So, how much money do you have to make? Katey is absolutely right about the subbing thing. It really does help you with a job later. Of course, I decided that when I grow up I want to be a nurse. You can't copy me. And why wasn't I invited to this LaGrange shower?
Going one step further with the subbing thing...you could be a teacher's aide. You'd get benefits and it'd be a stable and secure job unlike subbing. Subbing would cause you more stress. Are you serious about teaching? You know it's like one of the hardest jobs in the world, right? You still have to deal with dumb people, jerks, mean or annoying coworkers/bosses, and PARENTS (they can be the worst)!!! All of the time off DOES NOT make up for the stress and exhaustion that you have to deal with the rest of the year...trust me. It's just a way to keep teachers from going insane. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. It's very rewarding. But if you're looking for something easy or less stressful than what you're doing now, teaching isn't it.
...it is definitely for some people and DEFINITELY NOT for most of the rest of us! It doesn't take much to be able to tell who it is for and who it is not! ;)
Blessings on you, April in your career. With such a great understanding of your profession (as you perfectly stated), it's pretty clear you've got a good handle on it!
I graduated from ACU in '04. Michael, and I got married December 23, 2006. Our first baby girl, Harper, was born October 28, 2009. Michael graduated from TTU in August '10.

you should go to cosmetology school or massage therapy school and work at a salon/spa. it is good money and you make your own hours.
You'd probably have to leave Lubbock! ;)
Be a cop. We get to carry guns and drive fast.
I've thought about cosmetology school myself. Not for an extended length of time, but every once and awhile I think about it.

Why on God's Green Earth would you want to be a teacher? Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction, crazy face!
